FAQs should remove friction
A product detail FAQ is not a place for filler. It should answer the questions that usually make a customer pause: delivery timing, returns, care, size, materials, compatibility, and what happens after purchase. The best FAQ feels practical and calm.
Write from the customer’s phrasing
Questions should sound like real questions, not internal policy headings. Can I return it? How should I clean it? Will it fit a 14 inch laptop? Is the finish waterproof? Natural phrasing makes the section easier to scan.
Keep answers short but complete
An FAQ answer should be long enough to resolve the concern and short enough to read in place. If the policy is complex, summarize the key point and link to the full page. Do not make customers decode legal copy while they are trying to decide.
Use product-specific fields
Template FAQs become more powerful when they can pull from product data such as materials, care, size, weight, and shipping notes. This reduces duplicate writing and keeps answers consistent when the product changes.
Update FAQs with support patterns
If customers repeatedly ask the same question, the product page is missing information. Use support tickets, chat logs, and returns feedback to improve the FAQ. A good FAQ is a living product data layer.
The takeaway
PDP FAQs reduce support when they answer real uncertainty. They make the page more useful without making it feel crowded.
